Well, it was fun while it lasted!
Friends, we’re saddened to share that we’ve had to bid farewell to our cherished Little Explorers Corner at our Abbotsford Craft Brewery + Kitchen, and we felt it was important to take a moment to explain why this decision had to be made…
The BC Liquor & Cannabis Branch has interpreted one of their regulations in a way that was both unexpected and disappointing. There has been an ongoing discussion behind the scenes since we opened our doors back in April and unfortunately after many discussions and suggested revisions on our end, we were not able to find common ground. If you know the team at Old Yale, you know that one of our best qualities is our creativity and we tried just about every creative idea we could think of.
Old Yale Brewing is a family business and everything we do is rooted in our love for our families and our community, and our passion for ensuring a safe, responsible and enjoyable dining experience for ALL our guests.
Please know that our commitment to offering exceptional experiences and fostering a warm community atmosphere, remains unwavering. The former Little Explorers Corner has had a makeover and is now part of our beloved Indoor Games Lodge and we are actively exploring additional ways to make our Craft Brewery + Kitchen even more welcoming for the families that visit us, ensuring that each family member has just as much fun as the next and feels included. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and ongoing support. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be advocating, at both the local and provincial level, for change within the liquor industry to try and allow for an option for craft breweries with family focused atmospheres. If you too feel strongly that there is no harm is ensuring our craft breweries are safe and welcoming for guests of all ages and would like to see changes to these regulations and restrictions, we encourage you to reach out to your local representatives.
