Social Media Tips & Tricks
-
Need high-res images? Reach out to your suppliers, like Old Yale Brewing, they can provide you with images and videos that you can use on your channels!
-
Comment your hashtags on your Instagram post rather than including them in your captions. This will keep your captions short & sweet and allow you to hide them. In order to hide them, ensure you include 5 periods spaced down first. Check out an OYB post for reference
-
Make sure that your Instagram is set up as a Business Account as opposed to a Personal Account. This will allow you to use extra features that are only applicable to business accounts. It will also let you set up your contact information (i.e. phone number, email and address) to help customers find you!
PS. If reels are key part or your social accounts, set yourself up as an Entrepreneur account so that youβll be able to access more music and audio files.
-
If you are posting about a product or a company (i.e. Old Yale Brewing), make sure that you tag them in the caption and on the image to notify them of the post. This will allow the company to engage with your post and share it! *You can use also their hashtag (i.e. #oldyalebrewing) to notify them. We recommend doing all three!
-
Instagram does not allow for links in captions to work (no click-thrus), so in order to share a link to a product, great deal or a supplier, we recommend sticking those links in your bio or using a multi-link in bio platform, like Linktree. Links do however work on Facebook, so in order to capture your followers and get them to take action, include a link in your caption!
-
When it comes to the frequency of posting, there is no hard rule. We recommend trying a few different ways to see what sticks. Make sure you monitor to see how your followers are responding and be ready to adapt if necessary. *Donβt worry, social schedules can be modified! You can always take a day off and you can always increase your frequency!

Boosting and /or promoting your posts are a great way to increase your impressions, reach, followers and engagement on social media. When promoting posts, you can create specific audiences, schedules and objectives for your ads. To learn how to boost and / or promote posts, visit Facebookβs Business Center and follow the steps.

If youβre short on time, link your Facebook and Instagram accounts so that when post or schedule a post it will appear on both channels at the same time. Work smarter not harder!
