There are a few different tales on how the Radler came to be but we’re going to focus on our favourite because well, it makes a good story, and you know we like a good story. First things first, Radler actually means cyclist in German; and that’s why we think this story holds some weight.

Over the years we’ve had a LOT of great beer moments, from a celebratory beer at the top of a massive hike to a pint at the end of a long week. One this has become clear, MANY of our fondest memories include a cold beer in hand. There’s just something about a cold one at the right time, nothin’ beats it. We asked the OYB team to put together some of their favourite #OYBBestBeer moments, from their favourite memories to their weekly rituals. Here’s our best beer moments:

Lindeman Lake is THE perfect summertime hike in the Fraser Valley. And that really says something because there are A LOT of beautiful hikes out this way. But on a hot day, nothing beats it. Here’s why: it’s short (3.4km) but it’s steep (300 meters) so even though it only takes a couple hours it’ll get your heart pumpin’, and when you reach the top you’ll be greeted by a gorgeous turquoise lake surrounded by forest and mountain peaks. In our opinion, nothing is better than a hike that ends in a swim in a beautiful lake in the mountains (even if it is a little chilly!)

This festival is one of our favourite parts of Summer in Chilliwack and that’s why we created a beer to celebrate it (our NEW Sunflower Festival Witbier is available now)! There is NOTHING more Summery than these bright, cheery, yellow flowers! The festival boasts acres of beautiful blooming Sunflowers with numerous walkways weaving throughout so you can escape into this beautiful sea of yellow and green. It’s truly magical.
